About Deborah

Deborah Dutton -  Artist

I am inspired by the natural environment and the outdoors.
Through large expressive paintings , drawing in the air and reusing left over household paints I produce entangled plant images .

Also knit, loose threads, frayed edges, velvets, screen-print, and stitch celebrate my love of plants;
A reflection of how they move, catch the light, grow around each other, and regenerate.

I make individually constructed deckchair slings,
seat coverings and cushions.
Also made to measure footstools , upholstered with my bespoke top coverings.

I love the idea that my colourful bespoke deckchair slings and seat coverings are constructed to be looked at, sat upon, and have a visual and tactile impact in the Home or Garden.

With each idea and the reusing of older fabrics alongside the new, I create and construct "one-off" funky, brightly coloured pieces of fabric,
 no two are alike.
The idea of the old entwined with the new applies within the paintings too ,with the reusing of leftover paint with new canvas .

 Deckchairs, Tea cosies, footstools, and doorstops. Commissions welcome.

The print on this stool is inspired by climbing and entangled plants
