About Deborah

Deborah Dutton - Textile Artist

I am inspired by the natural environment and the outdoors.
Knit, loose threads, frayed edges, velvets, screen print and stitch celebrate my love of plants;
I enjoy the way they move, catch the light, grow around each other and regenerate.

I make individually constructed deckchair slings,
seat coverings and cushions.
Also made to measure footstools and reupholstery.
I love the idea that my colourful bespoke deckchair slings and seat coverings are constructed to be looked at, sat upon and have a visual and tactile impact in the Home or Garden.

With each idea and the reusing of older fabrics alongside the new, I create and construct "one off" funky, brightly coloured pieces of fabric,
 no two are alike.

 Deckchairs, Tea cosies, footstools and doorstops. Commissions welcome.

The print on this stool is inspired by climbing and entangled plants

I also work regularly as a family arts facilitator working with children, young people and their families within a range of settings.
